A baker’s dozen of refurbished fully-let domestic garages was snapped up for £101,000 at the Christmas Paul Fosh Auctions sale.
The block of 13 garages, which had a guide price of £80,000-plus, in a sought-after location at Farmwood Close, on the east side of Newport, benefit from refitted roller shutter doors and are accessed via a lane to the rear. They are let at a total annual rent of £9,360 returning a yield of 12 per cent.
Sustained interest until, the hammer eventually fell, was created by 17 King Street, Cwm, Ebbw Vale. The three-bedroom, mid-terraced property with first floor bathroom had a guide price of £32,000.
The lot, which required renovation, attracted a flurry of bidders including over the phone and was eventually sold of £45,500.
A traditional two-bedroom, mid-terrace house at 21 The Green, Abertysswg, near Rhymney, was listed with a guide price of £37,000-plus and sold for £40,000.
A three-bedroom, mid-terrace property situated in a popular residential location of 39 Heol Yr Ysgol, Ebbw Vale benefits from gas central heating and UPVC double glazing but requires upgrading and improvement. The property, with front and rear gardens and first floor bathroom, saw its guide price lifted from £42,000-plus to £48,000 such was the pre sale interest and eventually sold for £57,000.
Another mid-terraced house, this time with two bedrooms at 72 Pennant Street, Ebbw Vale, was listed with a guide price of £35,000-plus sold for £55,500 after keen interest.
Number 2 Islwyn Terrace, Tredegar, – a one-bedroom, terraced property close to the town centre, was listed with a guide price of £27,000, eventually selling for £33,000.
The final Paul Fosh Auctions sale of the year realised a total of £4,165,000 from the sale of 41 properties from 66 offered. The next sale is on Thursday, February 6, at The Cardiff North Hotel, Cardiff, starting at 5pm.
